Hurrying past on Branch Hill, Hampstead [Outstagram]

Line drawing, in biro and ink, of a dog with its head under the table at a cafe.
Location: Branch Hill, heading towards Hampstead.

Fluffy dog, breed I can’t tell you. But I can tell you it that its legs were moving very very fast. Two reasons:

  1. to keep up with its owner
  2. to get away from a rather tough looking Alsatian walking behind it.

As I may have mentioned elsewhere, I’m hoping to achieve a kind of doggy reportage with these drawings: they’re not posing for the camera but just going about their business.

This is the fifth in a series of reportage-style portraits of dogs in Hampstead. The series is part of my Outstagram project: posting here things (mostly visual) that I might previously have posted on Instagram.

As you see, I drew this in October last year, around the time my own dog companion, beloved schnauzer Peanut, was quite unwell. I didn’t feel like posting pictures of other dogs looking perky, thanks very much.

Peanut is a lot better, happily, so I’m back on the Dogs of Hampstead thingy.
