Found a list of 20-plus literary festivals and clicked through to all their websites. Searched for the person in charge of programming, and wrote directly to ask if I might be added to the event.
Not going to write here who they were, but might add that they included larger festivals and smaller ones, in London and outside.
Used the website Contact Us form twice, as I began, then switched to direct email. Had to guess the email address in two instances. One of those bounced back as unrecognised: will try a slightly different one. Two other automatic replies said the recipient is on holiday till the end of the month.
Found it helpful (as ever) to do this in a series – one after another after another – rather than doing just one and having to relearn the process every time.
What did I actually write? Largely that was determined by the text I put together this morning as a semi-formal Press Release. Will send that out to print and broadcast radio next.
