Drawing in company

I spent a day in the Lake District with Adam, Martin and Will – friends from university, including three who turn up in A Speccy Man Has a Breakdown.

We went up a mountain above Windermere. At the top I made a drawing, in pencil on paper.

When we got back later to the place where we were staying, I turned that into a drawing on my iPad.

Walking down, we stopped at a tarn. Adam looked at it for a long time and talked about going in for a swim.

Drawing: the tarn where Adam didn't swim.

He did not, in the end, go in.

Later, in a meadow, I drew a landscape on paper, using my Derwent Inktense palette and a water brush. You can peek over my shoulder here.

At Coniston, at the end of the walk, the three of them waded in. I stayed on the shore and drew them.
