When I first started making this book, a handful of people asked to buy a copy before I had even contemplated how I would sell them, or for what price.
It was incredibly encouraging to have that support so early.
These first patrons made it possible for me to send out emails stating that some people had ordered a copy.
It felt quite ridiculous at the time, to say (as I did in one early post/email) that eight people had pre-ordered a copy (out of 250 available).
I mean – aaargh! – what would I do if nobody else ever ordered??? SO exposing!
What I found was that having any support at all made it possible to keep going – keep mentioning each tiny incremental increase. And when I did post, more orders often came in.
