Today I went with Peanut to pay homage to the window display at Daunt Books in Belsize Park, featuring the new book from Sort Of Books, written by Lore Segal.
Lore Segal has been writing terrific stories for a very long time, many of them first appeared in The New Yorker.
You can hear her reading one of those in a recent episode of the New Yorker Fiction podcast.
But I digress, talking so much about NY when the point was to showcase a splendid book, from a splendid independent publisher, in a splendid bookshop’s window in London.
Sort Of Books was the first indie press to let me in as artist in residence last year (thank you).
Peanut has been quite naughty today and jumped on an empty seat on the Tube at Hampstead.
The few people nearby seemed to find this terrific fun so I took a photo – but really I don’t think this is good behaviour AT ALL.
Thank you for looking.
