So much more alive, talking to a real person
As sent earlier: an actual voice note I sent to someone.
Transcript
I left someone a voice note earlier, and I just thought, how interesting, how much more alive it sounds when I’m really, really talking to a particular individual. Here, listen for yourself.
Hello, hello. I hope you don’t mind me sending voice messages. I just find it more fun than typing, sometimes.
Yes, I was curious. How did they respond? Did they respond? Maybe no response. If there’s no response, that doesn’t seem like a great thing, and maybe suggests that we made the right decision.
And yes, let’s meet soon for a coffee to discuss another thing in London. That would be great. I made a note to myself about doing exactly that yesterday.
So, I’m very glad you got in touch. I hope you’re having a nice time on this beautiful day… A bit windy outside the window, as I say this. Hm.
Do you see what I mean? That does sound rather alive to me. What do you think?
This has been an episode of Voice Notes to the World, with me, John-Paul Flintoff. If you have any comments – like, for example, if you wanted to send me a voice note – that would be fascinating.
There’s an jp at this domain name on the episode homepage, and probably, if you’re listening, you know how to get a hold of me anyway.
Thanks. Bye.
