Idea for a voice note Q&A

Well, I’m sitting in the car park at Waitrose, waiting for someone, and I just had an idea.

I’m absolutely bursting to record a bit of video bit of audio, because I, um, I got really excited about the idea that I’d shared a voice note earlier today or yesterday. A real voice note, something that I actually sent to someone, and I hadn’t recorded it intending it to be part of a podcast. 
I just sent a voice note to someone and then I listened to it and I thought it sounded really alive.

And I realised what I obviously – um, not obviously – what I have known for a long time is that a voice sounds stronger and more natural when it’s really directed at a particular individual.

And anyway, then I thought maybe I could do a little voice note-based interview series with two or three people, and I’ll send a voice note, and then they might reply by voice note, and then I’ll send another question, and they’ll reply again, and then when I’ve got like five questions and answers, I’ll put them all together for a little interview episode.


I got quite excited about that and I’ve actually already interviewed – I haven’t interviewed, you can hear how excited I am, I think - I’ve already asked two people if I can interview them in this way, and I really hope that they’ll say yes, and I’m already running away with myself getting terribly carried away about what the opportunity and the possibilities are. 


Which is probably crazy, but I’m not going to try and come in and be the self-critical editor thing yet. I’m just enjoying the enthusiasm of the opportunity and the creative moment.

Because really, I know that it would be possible to get an interesting story from so many different people, and I’m really excited because I’ve come up with my questions for this slot. 


But I’m recording this on my phone, and I’m not at all happy about the audio quality, so maybe I won’t use this. Let’s listen to it now.
