The journalist and author Kamin Mohammadi wrote a powerful piece about #iranprotests in yesterday’s Observer and today was on Woman’s Hour.
Kamin is a dear friend of mine. I drew this homage to the first page of her newspaper story.
Not long before drawing that, I had drawn a copy of a family photo, showing Kamin as a young child, with her sister and her mother. The photo was taken in Iran, before the revolution.

Then I saw something by Kamin on Instagram – she’d written a poem for a magazine, describing what she’d lost as a result of the revolution. I found it very touching, and decided to add the words of her poem to the family-photo drawing.
