I’m drawing a series of Londscapes (London landscapes), for a book I’m also writing. This is from the corner of the Heath near Whitestone Pond.
If I’m a passenger driving past, I love to watch through the trees for the momentary glimpse of all that busy-ness in the City.

Alt Text Challenge
As part of a one-week pop-up newsletter (ending early Nov 2021), I’m challenging readers to provide “Alt Text” to a series of pictures.
Alt Text is used to describe online images to people with visual impairment – to say what the picture shows, and to give a sense of its “feel”.
The first entry to come in, relating to the picture on this page, is inserted as the actual Alt Text. Others that came soon after include:
Drawing of a green grassy field strewn with wildflowers, lined with tall, thin, green-leaved trees against a clouded blue sky, glimpse of uniform towerblocks through the trees in the distance.
Shadows play in the tall grass among white flowers, while skinny trees dance in the wind above. Some dark blue clouds slide past. The city smokes quietly in the distance.
A sketch of greenery with plastic litter against a blue but cloudy sky. Through tall skinny trees defining the horizon are hints of London’s high rise blocs and chimneys.
Thank you!
