Badly formed or empty

Stef came back with the plugin and a detailed email explaining how to configure it. Custom fields for price and SKU. Email templates for order notifications. A mini basket widget for the header. The works.

I read it carefully, felt briefly overwhelmed, then felt fine. It’s a toolkit, not a trap. You use the bits you need.

The first practical step was to install it. Stef sent a zip file; I dragged it to the Plugins panel as instructed and got back: Badly formed or empty plugin code.

A quick look inside the zip revealed several folders and subfolders — a full plugin bundle in a format that, I suspect, requires a newer version of Textpattern than the 4.8.8 I’m running. I’ve emailed Stef to ask if he can send a single-file version compatible with my installation.

So: waiting again. In the meantime I’ve been thinking about the structure of the shop itself — questions that don’t depend on the plugin being installed, and which I’ll write about next time.

Meanwhile, I’ve started writing daily emails about the new book.
