A wristwatch without hands

Recently, I was talking with a collector of watches. He has quite a lot of them.

He said he is not particularly interested in the most expensive watches. He liked interesting ones.

I told him that I was given by my grandfather a watch that has moving dials instead of hands. I said I thought it was made during WW1, and doesn’t keep time very well, which is the least one might wish from a wristwatch. But I love it so I keep it.

I went home and found it.

Here, take a look (it’s very grubby, sorry about that):

A wristwatch with a pair of concentric dials in its face, rather than hands.

Back of the same watch, with words cut into the metal: Election, Grand Priz Berne 1914.
