Okay, at risk of seeming more like a lunatic than usual, or – I don’t know, make your own mind up, maybe you think I’m really normal – um, anyway, I’m feeling really cheerful now, only a couple of hours after the last episode, because…

You may remember that in the last episode, I was expressing my deep sense of pissed-offness and depression, because I haven’t been paid for something.

Anyway, I created that episode, I saved the audio, uploaded it to my website, saved the transcript, posted it, and then I, um, wondered about this project that I’ve been doing in the last few weeks, which is capturing my entire archive, from my website, where there are, I think, 1.2 million words, and social media, where, combined across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, I have posted a lot, but also even left 137,000 words in comments.

So there’s a lot of stuff. So I took this audio recording this morning, took the transcript, and I asked an AI to look through my archive for anything related to it.

And this is why I’m so cheerful and really feeling massively pleased with the work that I’ve put in on this, because it’s been a lot of work, and I think it’s going to be valuable, but it’s not actually yielding any money, which, as you know, is quite annoying at this moment.

But the AI didn’t just look for the same words, that would be really boring and useless. It rather cleverly looked for… repetitions of similar topics and related pressures on a person, self-employed person, someone finding that the work that they’d done was no longer available.

Those sorts of things, which is quite clever, I think. I mean, I’m not telling anyone anything that we don’t know. LLMs can be very impressive in their effect.

But it was great, because I found two posts, and I linked to them from there. And they both made me laugh, ‘cause I thought they were quite good, what I did at the time.
Um,

So yeah, just being on record, I was pissed off. I did post it. I did share it.
I did capture the material. I did cross-reference it against my archive. I did find something that was somewhat… pleasing.

And I suppose I should say that I have been here before because I found in one of those posts that I was tremendously worried when I’d lost my contract with the Sunday Times, and then I went on to do all sorts of interesting things afterwards.

Cause and effect? I don’t know. But one thing led to another.
Anyway, thanks for listening.
