Sketches from my breakdown

“Woman concentrating on writing”. Drawing on paper. . Strange though it may sound, in 2018 I found I had lost all sense of who I am, what I have done with my life, and what I can do with the time left to me. . With lots of therapy and the support of friends, I came to see that I have been given a talent for writing and drawing – and that it would be very ungrateful to undervalue those talents. . This drawing is of a woman on a residential writing retreat I ran a few months afterwards. . I was struck by her concentration, and the pleasure she took from something that she also plainly found difficult at times. I hope it might inspire you to use your talents. . I am offering 8” x 12” prints of this image, with 50% of profits to womanstrust during May (Mental Health Awareness Week). DM me if you are interested. . If you are feeling depressed, anxious, or at rock bottom - talk to somebody. It will be OK. . . . . . . . . . . . #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #depression #anxiety #therapy #arttherapy #artforsale #sketch #sketching #drawing #ink #waxcrayon #artistsoninstagram #instaart #artistsofinstagram #writing #talent #gratitude

A post shared by John-Paul Flintoff (jpflintoff) on
