Postcards from the edge #6 Sketches from my breakdown <<Previous View this post on Instagram “Tapping, with pleasant thoughts”. Drawing on paper. . In psychiatric hospital, one of the therapists gave a talk every Friday morning, where he shared this exercise. . He had a stern manner, like some kind of military type, but he taught this very gentle exercise. . Even at the time, I could see something funny about a room full of people who had hit rock bottom sitting in a circle tapping themselves on the shoulders and on the knees, being told by somebody quite gruff to think pleasant thoughts. He also taught Qi Gong, which I'd never done before. But I tried everything because I was desperately bored on my own, especially at weekends. . I am offering 8” x 12” prints of this image, with 50% of profits to womanstrust during May (Mental Health Awareness Week). DM me if you are interested. . If you are feeling depressed, anxious, or at rock bottom - talk to somebody. And maybe try tapping, with pleasant thoughts. . . . . . . . . . . . . #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #depression #anxiety #therapy #arttherapy #artforsale #sketch #sketching #drawing #ink #waxcrayon #artistsoninstagram #instaart #artistsofinstagram

A post shared by John-Paul Flintoff (jpflintoff) on May 23, 2020 at 10:08am PDT Next: Postcards from the edge #7 >>
