One year ago, I had a solo show of my magnolia pictures at Burgh House in Hampstead.
I got so much pleasure from it: seeing all the pictures together, on the walls of a single room, and (better still) seeing so many people.
It was like a great week-long party. People I haven’t seen for years came along, which was incredibly kind.
I’m posting here just a tiny proportion of the photos, with HUGE thanks to the people who came but aren’t pictured. Maybe I’ll do another post with more pictures (good idea!). But I want to post this right now, to commemorate the anniversary.

The art historian Estelle Lovatt visited my solo show at the Burgh House gallery, Hampstead. Once upon a time, I was a student in Estelle’s Saturday art classes.

Martin and Steve cycled up to the gallery, one lunchtime, from the Observer office in Kings Cross – little realising quite how UPHILL it is to the top of Hampstead.

Sue came over the hill from the other side. Here she is in front of a picture of H.

Pru popped across the city from Stratford. Pru’s been coming over this way since our daughter N was teeny tiny.

Just me, this time.
