"Different Camera For The Bingo Machine" | Steve Chapman

I had a very important / very ordinary meeting today with Steve Chapman. We were to meet at the Tube station but I was running slightly late so I suggested Steve wait for me instead at Cass Art.

By the time I got there he had already bought a sketchbook. I bought one too, exactly the same.

But I also wanted to tell him about the ink set I bought recently. Alas, I hadn’t brought it with me, so I had to buy another (smaller) one.

We had a coffee and talked about a lot of different projects, including a plan to become a professor.

In fact, we talked about projects as such – that is, about having a bunch of things that are interesting to do, some of them gradually becoming bigger things, and some not, and coming to see them, over time, as A Thing.

After talking, we drew each other. A kind of joint selfie, but with ink. I drew Steve first, and added a remarkable sentence he had uttered, about using a different camera when working online with his bingo machine.

Yes, he has a bingo machine.

Then Steve drew me, and added – well, see for yourself.

I’ve included a picture of the Inktense paint set, because I think it’s great. I painted yesterday’s picture of a pond using a larger set that I’d bought last week. (If you buy with this link, I earn a teeny commission – thank you.)

Finally, here’s a T-shirt design Steve made for himself yesterday, because he had spilled coffee on the white and needed to cover the stain.

He used (he said) fabric pens. I have no link for those.
