Great time of year for stumbling into magnolias. This one’s on Briardale Gardens.
I stood on the pavement sketching, and colouring with my new favourite markers from Cass Art. Then I popped home to do the version above, in acrylic paint on board.
Trouble is, my white paint is horribly wet and thin.
As I was in the kitchen I decided to thicken the paint with plain white flour, much as I do when making cauliflower cheese.
I felt inordinately pleased with myself for thinking of this.
I can report that the thickened paint has a slightly elastic consistency. More like bread dough than béchamel. But hey.
