I invited a handful of people, including newsletter subscribers, to send me screenshots of the home screen on their phones.
Then I copied the screenshots as a drawing, using (in most cases) biro and felt-tip pens.
Afterwards I sent back my drawing, and asked what effect it had – knowing that I had studied the usually private home screen in order to draw it. Here’s what the owner said:
It has made me realise that I only recognise half of the icons, so they could do with a prune.
The bank stuff can move back to a second page position. I was surprised by their presence, given I don’t use them often.
I think they should all be icons with green backgrounds to accompany my Blackpool Sands path wallpaper photo.
My wallpaper changes but it is always sea or trees. I grew up by the coast and am too far away to see it, so I like a daily reminder. My lock screen photo shows rain and my granddaughter in Tenby.
I asked: How long have you had that on the home screen?
About a year.
Any other thoughts?
I am using your picture for my Home Screen!
