Handmade handouts

Handmade presents are scary because they reveal that you have too much free time. Douglas Coupland

As a slight change from the most boring possible option – distributing a printed, double-sided sheet of A4, after doing a public event – I recently decided to provide the same content as a one-off, mini-booklet (still using just one sheet of A4 per person). I drew it by hand, scanned and copied it, then slightly customised each version, using a coloured pen.

The people who received it seemed to like this slightly unusual format, and even the wonkiness. But to be honest their pleasure was a secondary objective: mostly, I did it to amuse myself.
