Portraits of the Artist in his Olympic Glory

Thanks for looking. I hope these pics made you smile.

Since drawing these, sometimes several in a single day while the Paris Olympics took place, I’ve been playing around with ideas for a story to make sense of them all.

I’d like it to be a story for children, not unlike the Mr Benn books I loved so much as a child (and still as an adult).

I talked to my friend Anthony MacGowan about this – not a big thing, just a quick phone call, out of the blue. He gave me some useful ideas about what to do, and what to avoid.

I’m planning to spring it on Andrew Clover, but he doesn’t know that (not unless he is you are reading this).

Anyway, as I proceed with this, I’d be delighted to share more of the process. I hope you’ll follow along.
