Making art together

A friend suggested I try something online that she had previously done “in real life”: a schedule of draw-alongs, or sketching parties, which people could join regularly or as one-offs.

I’m curious to know if anybody would have any interest in that. If you do, please leave a comment below.

I’m posting here a link to the organisation in Australia which hosted my friend when she worked there.

Secrets of a corporate art collection

Yesterday I met somebody I haven’t seen for more than 40 years, after talking about my breakdown at her law firm.

She walked me around the firm’s art collection, which she curates. At one point (pictured), she pulled a Patrick Heron off the wall (!) and revealed that he had also made sketches on the back.

I thought how lucky her colleagues are to have not only beautiful art to look at, but also an in-house curator who can reveal its secrets and tell great stories.

Tentatively, I asked her advice about how to share my own art: pictured here (right) is a painting commissioned recently by my therapist, Dr A.

If you’d like something for your law firm, other office – or indeed your downstairs loo – please take a look around this website.

And if you’d like to commission something, please get in touch.
