A short film introducing myself - and how to make yours

I made this film immediately after starting the second major phase of training as a coach.

I'd previously enjoyed a strong connection to the people in my first period of training, not least because we were all in the same room together, for days on end over a period of several months.

But in certification, there were nine of us – and I knew we were very unlikely ever to meet in person.

We came together on conference calls (no video), and written exchanges in a private online forum.

Even the calls were an achievement, to be honest. Because our group was scattered all over the world: Singapore, Dubai, Germany, the UK, and all over the US.

Anyway.

I made the video towards the beginning of the six-month certification period, because I missed the strong sense of other people that I'd enjoyed so much during the earlier training.

I did get to know everybody eventually, but NOBODY ELSE MADE A VIDEO.

It has only slowly dawned on me that a lot of people don't like to risk the exposure. It doesn't feel safe.

You may be one of them.

Which is bad news for me, because I'd love to have you join me.

And it may be bad news for you too, because you are missing out on the chance to join not only my sessions but those of others who run similar things online.

The chance to learn from each other, and share world-changing ideas and products.

A part of you might be hoping one day to host online events yourself.

If you do, I think you should!

Tomorrow, I'll explain how you can overcome any problems creating a safe space to join events online, so that you can do whatever you want.
